Tomorrow is the big turkey cookoff, and I am busily preparing. Today we finished painting the living room and family room.
And I started cooking my first Tom every, complete with garlic rosemary, pork and bacon YUM! OMNOMNOM
The day was October 19th 2008, the location Gibbs Lake, WI. Located in Fulton. On this day hundreds of cyclocross racers gathered in this location for a great day of cross racing.
The race was a big hit offering racers a chance to show off their technical skills in the tight twisty corners, fast downhill with reported speeds of up to 30 miles an hour down hill with a sharp right at the bottom, the fastest set of barriers in the series, a great view of the lake, a band, hand made glass trophies and some tasty refreshments.
The real hit of the day was the Mongoose/Schwinn tricycle race. We setup a cross tricycle race. The race was a time trial and the winner won a new Schwinn cross bike. The competition was fierce, William Butcher of Madison WI. was determined to win the new bike. He has been racing the whole year on borrowed bikes from who ever wasn’t racing. Having five kids and a recently broke down car a cross bike was out of the budget. That is unless he could own the tricycle showdown. Will came out guns blazing and placed the fastest time out the gate. David Feuillerat of Janesville, WI went head to head with Will and didn’t let him hang on to first for long. But the winner of this race was going to who ever wanted it the most. Will went as far as trying to bribe the judges to close the race down early, and his desire for this bike showed in his frantic speedy races. William came out ahead with a new bike and a happy budget. Thanks to Mongoose for helping make this all happen.
